Robocaller, rings twice then hangs up

Scam . Texted twice pretending to be from hmrc.

was called today (31/1/2024) by "BPO" asking me to press 1 or 4. didn't respond but kept line on (muted) and they cleared after 2mins 30 secs. IGNORE but block if your phone provider supports (mine is Plusnet and code is 1572)

Had a call today, a guy saying he was from BPO, asking for my address to go through security. He said it was an important matter but couldn’t give me any more info. I said I’m not giving you any personal details without knowing what’s it’s for so he said we can’t go any further then. Glad I googled the number to find it appears to be a scam

Message saying I owe HMRC but its addressed to a company

This is BPO collecting debt I owe. My debt is with HMRC for tax owed. These is a genuine company not a scam. If you owe tax you owe tax. Plain and clear. Needed to double check though with this site, because I received their number via text message, reminding me to call them.

I get repeated calls from this company despite blocking their numbers. Claim to be from Hmrc but I checked with them and they said to beware of scammers

They phoned but I didn’t answer as didn’t recognise the number. Then received text addressed to company saying they were from HMRC- scam I suspect!

I too have received letters with this number. Trouble is cannot contact HMRC to speak to someone to confirm I don't owe this money. I have checked my tax record and everything fine.

Had two letters in a month from bpo collections demanding I pay £3160.04 , Total scam they reckon their chasing debts on behalf of hrmc their number is 01412800562 its all fake do not send anything

I have received various text messages from these scammers directing me to call 01412800562 for an "outstanding" HMRC payment, which I don't have. If you get a similar message, contact HMRC and they will confirm you don't owe anything.

Now had 10 texts from different mobile numbers demanding outstanding hmrc payment to bpopay online or call 01412800562. Scam, scam, scam.

Ive just come off the phone to a Scottish woman from bpo ?? claiming I owe money to hmrc for a overdue payment witch owes 10125.04 I know nothing about this payment - or the business she mentioned ! its a scam because I've been on the phone to hmrc And they have told me it's fraudulent action that someone is fraud in my details so just be careful if you receive a calls from this number 01412800562bpo or this number claiming to be from hmrc03002003831 Get in touch with Action Fraud

Got a text saying to call them to "make a plan to pay your HMRC balance". (I don't have one - I'm up to date. And of course HMRC don't do this). They had my name, so have obviously acquired a spam list from somewhere.

Got a text about phoning this number to pay outstanding HMRC, nothing outstanding all up to date, this is a chancer, ignore delete and block number, common sense tells us HMRC does not text or call without first sending a letter

Lady with Scotish accent refusing to give me any detail about who she was representing, accept they are called BPO. She said she would send a letter that would "explain it all". It sounded sinister, so I Googled the number and here I am. Somewhat relieved that I'm not the only person to find it weird. They are either opertunistic dept collectors (I have no debt), or its a scam. Dont give them any info. I'll await my letter.

A woman with a Scottish accent called me today (08.11.22) on my mobile phone from 0141 280 0562 saying she is from BPO and asking me for my log in details before they can give me any details of why they are calling. When I said I don't know who BPO are, she asked if I was the company owner? I said yes and she said she would have to take some details before we can proceed. I said no, I've never heard of you and hung up. They haven't called back since and now I have Googled them and found this.

Text message received to contact them to manage HMRC bill, in the name of company I work for

Not a call but a text from HMRC asking me to ring them on 0141 280 0562 to help them manage my bill, but they sent it marked for the attention of the company I work for, idiots!
