Someone called saying they were from the Postcode Lottery. I was not sure if it was genuine, so I did not give any personal details.
Scam local energy advisor going by the name of James. Terminated the call and blocked the number.
Yes, I had call today claiming they were from postcode lottery. It could be a coincidence but I recently emailed postcode lottery enquiring if I needed to be home for the December draw. I have had no reply as yet. So when this call came and he was aware of my enquiry. Then asked for my address and dob. Friendly, slight Scottish voice, birds in the background. So we chatted about Edinburgh and birds for a short while. Then he came about the winnings that it will go straight to my account but you've not set one up (which I thought I did!)...he was going ask for my bank details but I told him I'll do it another time. That's how I came here to search his number. I will be contacting Postcode Lottery about this too.
Do not give them any information. They are fishing to access your bank account detail. They told me I had a warrant out for tax evasion. Asked for my name, which I said I wasn't going to give, then put them on speaker to talk with my mum and they quickly hang up.
