Said they were from open reach and had detected fraudulent activity. I strung them along for a while playing along then said I needed to answer the door just put the phone on the side. They are paying for the call and eventually hung up after 6 mins waiting

Said they were from virgin media and that I had internet issues. I have no issues so told him I had Sky. He stuttered and then hung up. I have heard a lot about this type of call and know it’s a scam.

Claimed to be from Virgin Media stating problem with my internet. I asked who he wanted to speak to. He ignored my question and claimed there was a problem with my WiFi being shared. I repeatedly asked who they were calling to speak to until they hung up.

Definite scam form man posing as BT

Definite scam posing as BT Internet services trying to rectify "fault". Then asking probing questions. Had all the Hallmarks of potential scam

Caller did nt answer when I answered call. Eventually Asian sounding man started to tell me there was a problem with my internet. I asked who he was. He avoided question and repeated there was a problem with my internet. Again I asked who he was and who he worked for. Then he said he was from BT. He then started to ask what I used internet for. I said "why do you want to know?". He said it was about the fault. He went through a number of possible internet uses to which I asked why he wanted to know. Then he got onto Internet banking. I continued to ask the specific reason he wanted to know and to give me some proof of identity. He hung up.

Just received a call from this number claiming to be Virgin Media, said there was a problem with my internet, when I said I’m on my internet now with no probs, he got irate so I just said no thanks and hung up, orang the number straight back and surprise surprise engaged tone then went silent!!!

Attempted to return missed call. Get a robotic voice stating an opt-out email address that I cannot make out. Puts me in a customer service waiting line and then tells me no one is available to take my call and disconnects.

They called me from 01260 444031 saying they were Virgin Media and i had internet issues. Told them to do one

The same here! I received a call today,threatening me the same although the voice sounded automated.

Claimed to be from Carphone Warehouse, but I hung up almost straightaway. I managed to ring it back by accident as I was tapping on the number to block it, and heard a message in American accent calling the company “Callhouse” or something similar, and offering telemarketing opportunities. Clearly legit, then.

Claimed to be from the judicial justice system, call back or go to prison. Guess this is it for me. Amen.
