Mobile phone cold caller. Received 3 calls over 3 days, no voicemail left. I eventually called the number back and line was silent until I said hello. Caller seemed to be deliberately trying to mask whether they were calling on behalf of 3 or O2 as I have had a contract from both in the past. They mentioned that I’m due an upgrade - I’m on a fixed sim-only contract, so no upgrade would be relevant as my phone was purchased sim-free and I’m on the lowest tariff. Caller mentioned something about offering compensation as a way to get details from me. Was not confident of the legitimacy. Unlikely that my number was taken off the records despite requesting this and chances are it will now be sold on as an active number.
