Claimed to be from BT, knew my first name, then ask for my full name and when he asked me to confirm my security questions I hung up. Might as well of asked me to transfer all my savings to his account. If it was BT they wanted to speak to me so why ask for my security questions? Stupid mother f.
Pushy sales guy knocking doors, gets you talking long enough to get this number to call you, guy who knocked my door had my telephone number. I'm a Plusnet customer but he knew I was an ex bt customer. Very rude and pushy, insisted I answer the phone to 'BT' if that's who it was, he had a terrible line, I could barely hear him and the line dropped. So I got spooked and blocked it. Very suspicious.
Excuse, that I interrupt you, would like to offer other decision.
Yes it is a BT technical support number although at first you think it is a scam call but on further investigation it is a genuine BT number dealing with broadband
I made an e-mail complaint to 'BT' following an unusual e-mail from 'BT' two or three weeks ago. An answerphone message from 08000285085 was left on my 'phone yesterday offering 'scam' support. I have yet to determine whether or not this number is genuine 'BT' support.
Asked for EIN number to try & make sure they were bone fide BT people. Couldn't provide it, so cancelled the call.
Claimed to be a call from Microsoft saying there was something wrong with my computer which they must fix urgently. Obviously a scam.
BT or not BT? have requested BT not to call with marketing messages but continue to receive this number and 0800 169 1608. Nuisance calls continue to be a plague foe phone owners
It is BT Broadband Support. Emailed them last week with a problem. Only phoned today (a week later). Fixed prob myself in the meantime. Quick tip. Dodgy automated phone calls only ring for about 15 secs
