Selling a car on Gumtree, and got text that he is interested. Requested a VI report. I realised quickly the scam, and told him no. Stay away from this number. Probably affiliated with the website and get a percentage from sales of VI reports requested by those who were contacted by him. Maybe even the website using dirty tactics to get sales on those useless reports.
Scammer, probably working inside DVLA or insurance companies as he discovered my phone number which wasn't in the advertisement and also wasn't even advertised by me. So the advertisement didn't have my name or any details about me but this scammer message me by SMS directly and didn't reply about him when asking about how he knew me.
Same as everyone else, wanted a VI report and sent a website link. This is a confirmed gumtree scam and possibly other sales sites. Steer well clear, I told them to do one
Had advertised a caravan for sale. Texts to arrange viewing which I arranged away from home address. A day later started to ask about a v1 report. Never heard of it but confirmed I had F/S/H. Never would phone only text but kept persisting on a report. Was referred to a website torque report.co.uk which is more relevant to motor vehicles. Messages became more demanding and aggressive. Eventually blocked this number as a Scam.
Try and get me to pay for a vehicle inspection on my vehicle that I am selling at my cost and hounding me over it I have told them I am more than happy for them to take the search out, but they don’t want to pay for it their selves

Wanted VI Report and posted after should have looked the number up
I have just blocked this number said he wanted to buy my static caravan but wanted a VI report and when I said he didn’t need one he then sent me a website to go on and get one needless to say I didn’t so please be careful

Looking for a car VI report and is quite insistent - most likely a scam by trying to get you to enter card details in a bogus website. Quite believable relative to other scams I've seen. Be careful folks👍
