They sent sms messages as previous reports stating Barclays Fraud Team. I fortunately read this thread against the mobile number. I blocked the number and sms disappeared. I immediately contacted Barclays who had blocked some transactions but over £100 had been taken already. Barclays are investigating this.

Scammer stay away. Pretend Barclays fraud team. Trying to get money out of you.

They made a fradulent £250 transaction on my debit card, then called me on my phone, claiming to be the Barclays fraud team (at first I believed them) and said they'd have to block my card *and* cancel my account and give me a new account. The latter struck me as strange, but I wasn't suspicious *until* they asked me to go to a Barclays branch, withdraw £5000 in cash "to keep the account safe from the scammers", take it home, and deposit it in the new account tomorrow. At that point I refused: I didn't want to carry £5000 of cash. I also got a text from 07380 283759 asking me to call back. But I didn't realize that the whole thing was a scam until I called the legitimate Barclays fraud team and told them the story.

Fake Barclays Fraud Agent, tried to trick my father into opening WhatsApp so they could "scan" his phone for malware.

BEWARE!!!! This is a fraudulent call and a very clever one! They will say they are calling from the Barclays Fraud team and advise a text message and code will be sent to you to block a payment. The code is to actually make the payment. The messages appear to be from Barclays....they are not!

Apparently will receive a message from Barclays confirming a payment
