I too received same text message saying Santander had stopped an £850 payment to Selfridges and to ring this number. Obviously a scam as it wasn't addressed to me by name nor did it contain the last 4 digits of my card number.
This number is an English guys scam.. Number needs closing down ASAP.. Text message about card payment to selfridges...
text message states £850.00 attempted at Selfridges, but was stopped, and to call 0333 339 7849 or visit local branch. I called the number, but got no reply (it just rang, no auto message, which is odd for a company?) and then a different number returned my call, which i didn't give any details to.
