"Patrick" from the local energy blah blah blah, said he understood I was the homeowner. He understood I didnt want to hear his BS when I put the phone down on him.

"Patrick" rang regarding my address coming up on Energy Performance Register regarding my type of loft insulation being an old type and not as efficient. He asked if I was in in the age range of 50 to 80 or over 80, I asked why and he said those over 50 would get a free survey. I declined to give my age. He said the survey would take less than 1 hour and the surveyor would come prepared with all the kit and "all I would need to do is make him a cup of tea if I chose." He also asked for my surname, so his manager would know how to address me when he called me, I declined to give him my surname and asked him what his managers name was and he said he was new to the job and when I queried that he must know what his managers name was, he politely terminated the call. He only rang me 4 days ago but under the name of "Simon" and on 01184640866 with the same patter. Same guy with identical conversation rang me last year.

Our address has come up on the "energy performance register" as having old lift insulation and we need to upgrade it now as it can cause condensation and mould!! I told him ours is fine and he tried to continue so I politely ended the call.

Caller said "I see you're the homeowner, is this right"? I confirmed and then I asked him: "If you know I'm the homeowner, what is my name?" Call didn't last much longer.
