This number keeps ringing me...
seriously dodgy call - told me he received data from my pc or laptop saying i had a virus - claimed to be working on behalf of windows support on behalf of BT and wanted to take some info - eh no thanks mate. jog on!
when I asked him to remove me from his database as I am TPS registered he told me to F*** Off
Had a call from a guy yesterday on this number, he mentioned problems I was having with my internet service being slow. He didn't know my name or my ISP. He asked me to connect to www.a mmy y.com and click the button on the main page, if you do this and then fill in the PC details etc. it would allow him to have remote access to my/your computer. Does this sound like a SCAM to you? If you do a web search for "ammyy scam" you will see what I mean. I'm informing police about this maybe others should as well.
Answered and didn't speak when I asked who it was.
Had a call from this number he made threats of rape and said that I couldnt do anything about it :(
He's been a very busy boy ! Rang me a few minutes ago, all the usual stuff about my computer files being corrupted blah blah blah ----- Said to him "let me guess , if i give you all my bank details, you can fix this for me" poor thing sounded genuinely hurt and told me " madam, i would never ever ask for your bank details !" I couldn't make out half of what he was saying so asked what company he was from and he told me without even a hint of irony " I'm from on-line victim support" !!!!!! I howled with laughter and told him I'm not a victim whilst hubby shouted "tell him to F*** off " in the background at which point he hung up- oh dear, hope we didn't hurt his feelings bless him !!!!
Just had a call from this number it was an Asian sounding man with poor spoken English to say that he had reports that my computer had been receiving strange e-mails. He said that he was from the broadband technical support and would like to help. When I asked how he knew this he just hung up. Don't be fooled!! it is a scam to get your details.
Just received a phone call from someone asking if I'd had any problems. Unfortunately, I'd had an issue with my internet which is now fixed, but he used it to talk about the need for an antivirus program and that anything I was currently using wouldn't stop everything. I asked the caller whether he was from BT and he said 'yes', but he never said my name once- always kept calling me 'Sir'. Eventually, I stopped him by saying that my problem is resolved, and that I don't want to do anything else that might harm my computer, then put the phone down.
Indian person called and claimed he was representing VIRGIN and that I had reported recently that I had been experiencing technical issues with my ISP. Asked again who he was and he was adamant that he was from VIRGIN. Politely told him that I had not recently got of a banana boat, he started to get hostile so just hung up. These creatures are a pain in the bum but the sad thing is that they probably catch some innocents!
