01838 321597 Negative Who called me from this phone number?

Caller refused to say who he was or who he was calling from, read out my number and asked me to confirm it was correct (not hard since he'd just dialled it) but when I asked him who he was again he hung up. Clearly spam.

On answering, silence, then hung up. Presumable a robocall to see if my number was in use. I now expect to be bombarded with nuisance scamming calls!

Caller claimed to be from Live Telecom and claims to be able to offer cheaper calls than BT Openreach. This company is registered with Companies House and has a web site, but that does not mean it is legitimate. The fact they are calling people registered with TPS, disguising themselves using a number that relates to a different geographic area to the area the company is registered in, don't appear to know that BT Openreach is not the same as BT, and are very cagey about giving out their company address, sets alarm bells ringing. I reported them to the Information Commissioner and blocked their number.

Caller told me that if anything happened to my TV during next two years I should ring this number and they will replace my set free of charge. Clearly a scam ! Block

Phoned and there was no answer then they hung up.

Hung up when answering machine cut in.

Richard called me on my landline and asked if it was my home telephone (of course it is he just called it!?) and did I live at number xx and when I said yes he said oh you’re with Virgin and rang off. Call ended! How rude and so annoying Obviously a scam!!
