First - asked if I could hear him, a well known scam tactic so if you say yes, they can use it later to say you agreed to purchase something. I think I said I could hear him, but think I didn't say yes. He said he was calling about free roof insulation installed in my postcode area that was likely to cause damp and wanted to offer a free survey. He assumed my property had this done. I said okay a couple of times, but this was an unsolicited call, that he had crossed wires and I hung up. If you have had free insulation you could assume this was a genuine follow up as several different companies are involved.
