This is a very clever one. I felt like a bit of fun so answered my landline to this number, something I generally don’t do. I got an immediate answer of “hello, my name’s Bill” A Home Counties accent and told me he was calling from some sort of energy efficiency firm and wanted to know about my loft insulation. I played along for a couple of answers when I realised it was scripted and he wasn’t responding when I tried cutting in. When he asked a question that required a yes or no answer I responded with another word (it wasn’t my usual swear word either, just abracadabra) Then phone was silent for a couple of seconds and then dropped the call. Obviously a prerecorded phishing expedition.
