recorded message saying they were landmark mortgages, i cut the call off and called the mortgage company but they had nothing in my notes to say they had called.

It was an automated message saying they where landmark mortgages and would like to speak to me regarding my account but before they go ahead please give us your date of birth ,I never give out that information and landmark would not do this

They just said they were calling about my account and gave a number I didn't recognise. It could be something legit but I didn't catch any name of an organisation. They wanted me to add my data of birth. Do any legit organisations do this?
