I work for a water board. A customer told us this number had called her, impersonating our company. This is 100% a scam.

Every day for a week, I didnt answer luckily, looked it up 1st.

Claiming to be a third party company working with Severn Trent Water offering a renewal of our household drainage and water cover. Asked for bank sort code and account number in order to set up a new direct debit, at which point I suspended the call. They claimed not to understand when I said, I don't believe you are who you are claiming to be, then hung up.

Called saying was Archie from Affinity Water and that cover paid for as one off in 2022 had finished and did I want to continue with monthly direct debit. Said I would and being offered contact to be made by post or email I said by email. He then asked for bank details I said for him to read what he had but he said it had been deleted because of the data protection act. I said I wasn’t prepared to give details over the phone but if contacted by email I would give those details through Affinity’s official website. He hung up

Short sales pitch then cut out mid sentence.

Said my incorrect name and that they were calling from Thames water? Gave a random address I told them it wasn’t my address, they apologised and hung up.

Didn't say where they were from, just hung up when I corrected the pronunciation of my name.

They called me,,, my Doctors number came up and I answered then the number changed to 01722 466348 with nothing just silence.

Said they were Homecare uk working with Yorkshire water when I asked for webpage they hung up

Claiming to be from Severn Trent Water - drainage cover! No idea I said they have the incorrect number.

didn't speak. call ended within 20 seconds.
