I also received a call from someone calling from this number, claiming to be calling on behalf of the RNIB and wanting to find out my experience of dealing with charities that work in the sight loss arena, due to me having dealt with the RNIB in the past, albeit well over a year ago. They called on Tuesday 20 October in the evening and again on Thursday 22 October in the afternoon. It seemed like it was a genuine call each time. However, I hadn't knowingly given my permission to the RNIB either for them or another organisation acting on their behalf to conduct any surveys, so that's why I was rather suspicious of the call to begin with. I just asked if I could be forewarned in future by the RNIB if either they or a third party were going to be contacting me again for any future surveys. I would also advise anybody reading this to offer to take part in the survey if they receive a similar call, but ask the caller to phone back in a couple of days or so's time, so there's time to check with the RNIB to see if they or anyone else is conducting any surveys on their behalf before taking part in any such surveys.

I had one today saying the same thing and asking about my mental health. I told her I couldn’t speak, so put phone down.

Rang twice over 2 days, wouldn't leave an answer machine message - so goodbye, number blocked

Phoned re my experience with Prudential and asked if I has a whole life policy. I said no and she said OK and hung up. Obviously either a student or telemarketing.

All my calls go to answer message and they are told they must say who they are before I pick up. If I know the number on screen then I pick up right away. This one said INTERNATIONAL on the screen, with the number, listened to my whole message then cut off.

Called twice saying they're from public health wales, didnt answer on both occasions and they left an answer phone message

Called claiming to be acting for Greater Manchester authority doing a survey for them on how people are managing under COVID. It came up as an international call and they said they used a dialer based in Germany. Reported it to the Greater Manchester authority.

Gentleman said he was doing a survey on behalf of the 'Consumer Council for Water' which I had to Google to see if they existed. They do. I think this is a general call centre/survey company who carry out genuine surveys. No reason to think it was a scam. I did, however, politely decline the invitation to take part as I'm trying to relax!

Called 3.06 pm 17.9.2020 Female sounded like a student type. Said she was doing a research project about charities and wanted to ask me a few question. I said I was not interested and she said that was ok, Call ended. When I tried to call to check her number initially it said "there was a fault on the line". Second time I tried I got the number. Wonder if any significance in "fault on the line.
