I had a call from these last week. A guy was on the other end called Richard and claiming to be from EE. He told me that he could save me some money and had some great deals for me. He then said he needed to ask a few questions for security. So I said okay. Then he asked me to confirm the second and fourth letter of my password. That's when I hung up. No one ever should ask for your password. To be honest I didn't even know it. Such a scam!!!!!
This number has been ringing me constantly for weeks. This morning I finally answered and the caller sang me 'it's not unusual' before hanging up. I wish I was joking
Called me and hung up wish they wouldn't bother!
rang with hitchin under number, happens atleast once a week SCAM!
Random call just now. Didn't answer
I have just recently changed my contract with EE, therefore, I am assuming this is why I am receiving a call from this number. I was glad that I missed the call, and having read all the comments on this number I have now blocked this number. I am surprised at EE allowing such a company to contact their customers.
Got a missed call from this number. I have no idea who it is..
Called me while I was in work at 5:30pm couldn't answer it but glad I didn't after seeing all these comments here.
Nuisance caller says it's ee
They called me today and it went to my voicemail. When i listened to it they were playing 'kill 'em with the flow' regae tune down the phone. Very unprofessional and when theyve called in the past they've been very pushy. EE need to vet their contractors more !!
My mum received a call from this number. The agents name was James Noble and she said she was pushed into a corner and sold an Ipad. She doesn't know what an iPad is and made this clear. ALL of her calls on her phone are recorded as i installed an app to prevent fraudulent telephone calls. He was extremely pushy and didn't take no for an answer. The background noise is that of a packed football stadium. I am returning the Ipad as soon as it arrives and am taking legal action against EE or the agent James Noble. My mum is an elderly lady and its clear in the call she did not know what she was buying and he pushed and pushed until she couldn't say no. DO NOT buy from this number. I have contacted EE and it is a legitimate sales number (god knows how) Once my mums contract has ended we are all leaving EE and i hope the justice system will get this scandalous company or agent shut down.

Just received a phone call from this number and I had no idea who it was at first. After looking at everyones comments, I'm glad I hung up. They didn't even speak for a good ten seconds, which made me suspicious anyway. What a waste of time.
iv had call from this number today and they asked to confirm my name, (like it didn't know it...) and then asked for my password... which screams SCAM!! to me! no company should be asking for your password when they contact you, only if you contact them!
Called me a few minutes ago. saying they had some great deals to offer me on EE etc etc. Wanting me to confirm my bill amount (ball park figure) I told them to go and fuck a duck.
I missed this call and reading these comments it seems just as well I did. Will be blocking the number.
this is NOT a scam number. i accepted the call and now have new contract tablets that appear on my EE account not a scam
called my mobile, no message.
Random call on my mobile which I didn't pick up and looked up number and found all the comments below. Not answering. They didn't even leave a message.
I had a call from this number! Didn't answer as I didn't recognise the number. But by the looks of all these comments it's a scam. People just be aware.
Number rang off and when i called back it was an answer phone message that sounded like a teenage boy. Certainly not EE so now i am worried they have my number.
Some guy called claiming to be from EE, which was odd because I didn't think EE would call, they tend to text. Next he asked me what were clearly security questions so that he could "confirm I was who I was". HE CALLED ME! It was clearly some guy calling from a pub or coffee shop because there was loads people chatting in the background.
I get at least 2 calls a week from these chumps. I always seem to miss their calls as I get them during working hours. But I'd like to have a chat with them, especially after reading everyone's comments on here as these guys don't seem friendly. Wind them up and see how they react. Maybe fail security on purpose!! That should get them off your backs!!
for the past couple of weeks am getting calls from this number, which i do not repsond as i don't know the number. it comes up as HItchin. really irritating!!!1
If anyone ever asks you for your personal details over the phone, just say you won't give it to them. No professional company asks for details such as passwords over the phone without first establishing trust so you know who you're talking to. Also, you'll never be asked to specify your password, just certain characters, so again, don't tell them your password. This number called me saying they were from EE, didn't believe them but he seemed to know that I was a loyal customer since Orange. Who knows.
Got called at random from "EE" - killed the call as I was on another line - but then Googled the number and came up with these similar stories
Further update - I used this number to successfully set up my EE broadband and have emails from EE to confirm. This is not a scam, and the phone line was perfectly clear.
This number called me this morning offering upgrades/broadband as an existing EE mobile provided. I googled EE and called there 0800 number and they confirmed it was a legit seller.
I got a call from this number yesterday and when I picked up, I couldn't hear anything. So I just hung up. I didn't bother call it again. From the previous comments I can see its an EE number or something connected to them somehow.
Had a missed call from this number today I called back and it was a man claiming to be from EE He asked me my name and then ask my postcode and for a password I said I don't have a password and shouldn't you know my name and my postcode if your ringing me you should have all the details in front of you I asked what the call was referring and he said its just to talk to you about your account I said EE Have never ring me before so why are you ringing me now. He said can I take you name and your password as your data is in data protection and he could only get to it with my password I said I don't have a password again and he didn't know what to say he hung up I rang back and it was a very un professional voicemail also like in the other comment the background was very noisy as if he was in a pub so no I don't think it was EE and it is just someone trying to get personal details to get all your info to use it somehow so do not give them any detail not even your name over the phone ask them to send you a letter don't give them your address just say you rang me you should have my address if you want to speak to me about my account send a letter in the post and I will call back when I receive it you will soon find out if the number is real
I keep getting random phone calls asking for Jennifer Stokes. They keep ringing despite me telling them to remove my number from their database. The telephone number they are calling changes but they always ask for Jennifer Stokes. I've now started to keep a log of the numbers.
Block This Caller is one of my favourite iPhone features ;-)
Had a missed call and called back. First time they just hung up so I called again. Again like everyone else's comments, they said it was EE but the background sounded really fuzzy like they were outside or had no signal. Ironic seeing as they're a phone company! She said she needed to ask me questions. I said is this really EE and she said yes and she's just calling to offer me some discounts on extra products and services. I declined. She sounded ok but the fuzzy signal and noise and that she was asking me questions seemed odd.
got a call from this lot. rubbish. Ignore them.
I got a miss call from this number yesterday and I didn't know who it was so I left it to ring out and I want who ever it is to stop calling me.
This is a legitimate EE partner (although they are a nuisance) calling to offer a change in contract based on your recent usage. The security questions they ask are exactly the same ones that are asked when I call EE directly. The reason they ask these is to verify that the person who has answered the call is the contract holder and not someone else who happens to have hold of their phone at that time. This is also the reason they can't confirm any of your details until you do; it would be a massive breach of data protection protocols to do so. They are annoying, sometimes rude and the line is terrible, but they aren't trying to steal your details
This number keeps ringing me too, long pause then a lot of noise, then someone attempts to pronounce my name. BLOCK BEWARE SCAM
Had a call from this number - didn't answer it, recon it is a hoax
I keep getting a call from this number around midday every few days, haven't answered it though.
AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS. They are a bunch of fraudulent CON-ARTISTS that try to sell you cheap knock off EE phone contracts, making you spend more on your current contract. They make you think you are getting a 'better deal' or 'saving money' for friends and family. I have done some extensive research on this company, they trade under STEPCHANGE OUTSOURCING, but the official company name is MAD BUSINESS SOLUTIONS (speaks for itself) who work on behalf of EE to outsource their service and products. The company is run by 2 men. The first is GWYN JONES, and the second is DECLAN SHILTON. Now, if you haven't heard of DECLAN SHILTON, he is the guy who tried to CON the 3 mobile network before they became popular by offering CASHBACK DEALS, but never paid any cash out. He was in NATIONAL NEWSPAPERS and has appeared on various sites with many people advising to AVOID him and any company he is associated with LIKE THE PLAGUE. Everything he owns, and everything he has done has been out of FRAUD. He even has his WIFE on the companies books as a SALES AGENT. This company do anything they can to avoid paying the correct taxes and obtaining the correct licences to run. This company should be shut down. If you want an additional phone line on your contract, call EE directly or go into the shop. Don't give your money to this fraudulent company.
MOBILE RANG WITH THIS NUMBER DISPLAYED. WHEN I ANSWERED NOBODY THERE ???
From 'EE' apparently but started asking me random security questions and if I could access my bank account on my phone to see how much my last bill was for, very dodgy and I said that I wasn't willing to do that and hung up.
Answered call from this number (showed on phone as based in Hitchin), but no one on other end. Can see from on here thats its EE again. Glad I didnt get to speak to anyone. Yet another number to add to my scam list.
I called EE this afternoon regarding a house move. 1h later I got from that 014 number which I didn't take. EE website lists it as legit, being linked to one of their partners called Step Change. Looking them up online, it's unlikely anyone would want to talk to them: Mobile-friendly - Expert debt advice. Fee free debt management. Get debt free with StepChange Debt Charity (CCCS) the leading UK ... Shame on EE for partnering and sharing our details with this kind of company!
Dead Line whenever answer, feels like a dialler.
So I took one for the team and went through the whole process with them, and they tried to get me to sign up to a new iPhone with them for being a loyal customer, I went through with it, and indeed without taking any bank details from me, they sent me a new iPhone upgrade which I took into my nearest EE shop and upgraded my contract, the only downfall is it is only an 8gb model!
Said that they were from EE but sounded suspicious when yhey wanted to ask where my contract was set up.
yep... it's a company cold selling for EE.. I've now blocked their number so they can't talk to me.. and next May.. when my contract is done.. I shall be switching to another network provider....
They rang today, answered the phone to a woman with the most awful background noise. I thought it was in my interest and in hers to save both our time by hanging up before she could barely say a word.
I use an Android app called "should I answer". It correctly identified the number as telemarketing so I let it ring out and selected block this number - easy!

Just had a missed call from this number. I rarely have sales calls like this as have blocked the only number that pestered me in the past. Is it any coincidence that this afternoon I have been on the EE website, logged in with my phone number and was looking to see when I can upgrade as my current phone is only working sporadically (not receiving 99% of texts!) Then about an hour later I had this call?? I am thinking they get passed on a list of who has been browsing the website to try and get a sales person to convince you to seal the deal so to speak. EE if you are reading this, it is shady, makes us think it is scammers calling with deals that probably are not really in our best interest. It's making me want to consider changing to a different company when my contract with you ends.
Called today by a man called Kim supposedly from EE. Told him I wasn't going to answer his security questions as he called me. He said it was his job to ask and he had a legal obligation to tell me info about my account and he wasn't going to risk his job by not asking security questions. I told him I wouldn't risk my personal identity. He was very rude and said I could look EEs number up online and call them back. Definitely not professional and probably trying to sell something.
Constant unwelcome unwanted calls from ee asking for my details saying I'm a valuable customer.
Missed call.
Just got a call from a woman on this number, saying she was from EE and I could get EE discounts for being a loyal customer. She was having to shout because the background noise was so loud. She asked for two digits from my EE security code, and I countered by asking her to provide the last 3 digits from my postcode. She said she couldn't as she'd lose her job so I said I was not volunteering any info until she could prove who she was. She started talking again but I hung up on her. She called back but I diverted the call to voicemail and she did not leave one. Smells of scam to me. Put her in my spam caller list on my phone. Many thanks to all the people who leave comments about calls. I often look up numbers that I have had missed calls from and websites like this one help enormously. Keep up the good work people and perhaps this service, combined wih the increase in fines for directors of companies who do spam / cold calls, will one day eliminate this modern scourge.
I keep being called by unknown number such as this. This number called me10 minutes ago and I'm unsure of who it was and why they keep bothering me. Can anyone help? I've got a feeling it's EE but I never want to answer and get harrassed to buy one of their "new offers" so I just ignore it. Though when I block them they just use another number to try and get through. Does anyone know how to stop this?
this number has called me repeatedly and Ido not recognise it.
Some fairly polite male rang me and said he was from E-E and wanted a few minutes of my time to discuss rewards for my loyalty. I mentioned that i wasn't interested because a deposed Nigerian prince recently gave me heaps of cash over a poorly written email and i was busy surrounded by sexy singles in my area all taking magical diet pills that doctors don't want you to know about... suffice to say he got the picture and hung up.
I had a call from the hitchen number EE trying to save me money on my data plan. I said not interested and they said so you don't want to save money. heres an idea want to save me money just cut my bill, you don't even need to ask me to do that. and don't get me started on them ringing me and then asking for me to confirm my name grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Got this call about 30 mins ago as I missed it turns out it was EE I never called or picked up when they called again. Never have I had a phone call from a phone company from a land line phone ever always usually 08xx numbers wouldn't pick up or say any security info if I was you.
Had a missed call from this number this afternoon. I'm glad I looked it up before calling back. These comments have been a life save. Thank you all for the warning.
This lot called today, sounded like they are based in the middle of a marketplace! A very easily flustered young girl started to try and sell me something or other, wanting security details first, which of course I wasn't giving out. You've got my mobile, why do you need more? Cold callers get no-where, go direct to EE website !
im apparently a loyal customer ! And can have some great deals, asked me to confirm my name, I did no you've rang me. Hung up and added them to the list of blocked numbers. Very noisy background.
Missed a call from this number today - just as well judging by other comments listed!
Just received call from this number and was told to check it out as I wasn't happy giving my details. Was still reading these posts when they called back as they said they would. Spoke to a bright and cheerful Lisa. She was polite and took my "thanks but no thanks" without a problem. Did seem as if she was from EE but I didn't want to buy anything.
Rang by 'EE' asked me how i paid my last bill, what my handset was and then asked my postcode, questioned this as they ring me all the time and don't normally ask this i also pointed out that i wasn't interested in anything as they keep phoning me!!! they dont normally ask these questions though....but yeh very noisy background.....
Cold call from EE trying to sell extra products and services for being such a loyal customer. Lots of selling and smooth talking but ultimately you will end up paying more than you are now, even if you do end up getting more stuff for it. Not worth the hassle, number blocked.
NUISANCE CALLS!!! IF I WANT TO UPGRADE ETC - I WILL CALL EE MYSELF. I DON'T NEED THEM HOUNDING ME!
Just had a missed call. Thankfully googled before calling back! Thanks guys!
I had a miscall from this number so I rang them back and they claimed to be from EE and they asked me for my full name so they can see who they are "dealing with" I replied I don't want to give that information as I have seen this number come up on a few scam websites and he said that they are a "direct partner" with EE and he said that the number will be on the website, but on research of EE direct partners 01462439891 wasn't one of the direct partners so ignore this number if it calls you! and they are based in Hitchin.
Blatantly someone trying to scam people. I missed the original call, phoned up about 2 minutes later and it went to answerphone. The answerphone sounded dodgy in itself saying "This is the EE team, no need to take further action"... The person saying this sounded about 15 years old and his voice was crackling (as was there a crackling noise in the background). have to say though, it's pretty funny this person is using a landline number that is easily trackable - what a moron.
I just had a call from this number. I did a similar thing to Dave above but flipped it slightly. I asked if he could prove that he was EE by confirming the amount of my last bill. He didn't know and said that information was on a different system. I then asked him if he could confirm my current package details, as in minutes, texts and Data on my current contract. Again he didn't know. I then informed him that he hadn't passed my security questions and ended the call. Number now on the growing collection of blocked spam callers contact I keep.
I received a phone call from this number, claiming they were EE. I was sceptical with regards to the authenticity of the company, so I began questioning the operator, asking him where he is based etc. His attitude changed and became very defensive.
offered a great deal etc I hung up straight away, EE don't do great deals
Thanks for the comments above, missed call. Wont be ringing back
Called - bad background noise - then they hung up. Saved number as EE scam thanks to this thread - cheers!
From reading previous reports looks like its a good thing I don't answer numbers I don't recognise. Iv been an EE customer a long while, next year calls for a change
I missed a call from them today from this no today. I read all these comments, then phoned them back. They asked me for name & contact details. I said if they were really EE, they would have this from incoming no. Told them I would take the issue up with EE by calling in to shop, and contcting citizens advice, and or Police. My no is registered with TPS, so shouldnt be cold called any way. Surely someone from EE has read this lot, why have you not bothered to make a comment? Do you not care?
Am suspicious about this number
Just had another call from this number, I like a lot of people don`t answer uknown numbers, and they have even left a message this time but thanks to this site I will not be returning their call! Cheers
Got a missed call from this number. Googled it. Read this page. Saved the number in my phone book as EE SALES FUCK TWATS. Problem solved.
So many spam scam calls in one day out of the blue. These people should be put in jail!
EE sales call, told them would send my horse and his massive scrotum round if they called again
Terrible line, sales call Fromm EE, did not go through security questions
Had a call from this number saying Hitchin under the number. I didn't answer the phone call l, been reading through previous comments don't answer.
Received a call from this number. They claimed to be from EE and asked me to confirm my details. I gave them 3 false answers which they didn't seem to find any fault with and were happy to continue selling me everything. Pretty obvious it is a SCAM after the false answers.
They have just called me and I searched this site while on the phone to them. Good job I did. The rep seemed far to pally for me which seemed very strange, very unprofessional phone manor. I'd stay clear of this number!
Called me and told me I could get my bill down
Had a call - wanting to know personal info and said they were EE! Not interested don't do sales calls over the phone = if this is what it is?
It is a scam! I got asked for my password which suggests it is definitely not EE.
This number is hounding me whether on my mob or landlines. Each time they say they are EE. I have asked them a number of times not to call and I needed anything I would call them. They aren't that polite and the back ground noise is awful. I work for an inbound call centre which is VERY busy and you can't hear any background noise from any of the agents. EE your agents are just about as bad as your loyalty services. Get it sorted so you don't sound so dodgy to us
Ignored the call, as I don't answer numbers I don't recognise, looking at previous reports, I was right to do so
Similar experience to others. Told me it was EE, then asked for security questions. I said I don't answer security questions when people ring me, he got really cocky and said he could tell me loads of things about me. Told him I didn't appreciate his attitude, to which he replied that he had loads of money to save me and it was in my own interest to proceed. I said that I'd ring back myself, he said "well, I'm the rewards team, if you ring back, good luck getting through to us" At that point, I hung up.
Had a call from this number today claiming to be EE. Told me he could save me money, I told him usually they are trying to sell me extra products and always costs more so not interested. The guy said he wanted to discuss my account further and would have to ask me security questions for data protection purposes. He was politely told he had rung me on my EE phone number and if he wasn't satisfied I was the account holder then he should finish the call as I would not be giving any further details. He started rambling on, I hung up.

Constant calling, especially early evening. I have ignored the calls and started declining them, but they still call...
This call was from scammers claiming to be from EE saying I may qualify for a 30% discount off my bill for the next...
Got a text- it's from Scrumbles cat food. Link leads to their website. All good.
Indian guy with thick accent pretending to be from o2 and virgin media. Hung up abruptly when questioned.
