01443 544989 Negative Who called me from this phone number?

Phone call and text purporting to be from E.On wanting to replace my gas and electric meters.??!!

Caller purported to be from Eon and wanted confirmation that a smart meter replacement installation which had been arranged was to go ahead. When it was confirmed the caller who was male ans sounded like an Asian dialect asked for additional details which I refused and he hung up. Contacted Eon through their central number who record all calls to customers. They confirmed the call was not from them and that my appointment was still current and valid. The call was in my opinion a scam to obtain my personal details which I refused.

A female asked for me by name but I didn't reply and then terminated the call. They didn't call back so I presumed it was a scam.

Caller did not leave a message. I assumed that it was probably a scam call and ignored it

Showed on phone as possible spam so I didn't answer

This person said he was from Eon and said that my meter had stopped sending readings and that they would send an engineer out to fix it stopped him there and said NO then cut him off I am with Eon but do not have their meters

I have had the same phone call I do not have a smart meter,I I said that I would call them back & they insisted that they would call me back I said no and put the phone down. I have phoned EON to confirm this as they record all phone calls, Eon have said that nobody from their business has contacted me. Do not give any information over the phone

Claimed to be EoN about my smartmeter - Said it needed replacing but only had installed recently - wanted my address which I did not give
