This is Tesco fraud they just called me in response to my call to them regarding fraudulent activity on my account
0141 537 4000 - This is Tesco’s bank and not a fraud number
Your wife’s an idiot. Anyone with your card details will empty it. You giving the details makes you an idiot too. And 3 weeks? Mate does that make any sense. Who is waiting 3 weeks if they have the details already. And on top of all of that it’s the wrong number. This is tesco banks number. You are truly retarded sir
Car accident scammers. The robot female voice told me that I was involved in some kind of an accident, and I was indeed involved about 2 years ago, so I said yes. Then, the robot instantly transferred me to a human foreign person, who could barely speak English. 5 minutes in, I've had my card in my hand, sending him my card details! Only when my wife stepped into the room and asked who I'm paying over the phone, she warned me that her boss lost almost £4K in a similar phone fraud case, so I hang up immediately. Apparently, once they have your card details, they will empty your bank account within 3 weeks.
This is the security dept of Tesco Bank.
Thanks for posting that message. Had a similar call today from the number and decided to google it. I didn't ring back on this number but the one on the back of the credit card as a precaution. Turns out it was Tesco doing a Fraud check and unfortunately there had been some fraudulent transactions. Glad Tesco were on the ball and intervened when they did.
Called tonight - Sheldon from Tesco asking me to answer security questions re my credit card as they had unusual spending. I was suspicious so he suggested I call them back on the tel no on the back of my card. I put the phone down, waited 5 minutes then called it. Got through and a woman confirmed that Sheldon worked there. Asked me the usual questions and gave me my last 6 transactions - all correct and no problems with my card.
