I got a call from a woman yesterday saying the same as above, I had won a break for two people and had a choice of hotel one in Scotland and one in the Cotswolds' said i would love the Cotswolds one and she said lovely, that will only cost you £150. a lot more than other people hi see. Anyhow i thought let's see where this goes and agreed to pay the money. Then she said she was new at her job and would pass me onto a=someone else to take payment. Then i had enough as i waited and waited so put the phone down. Then a few minutes later i get a guy on the phone ready to take payment. I said sorry the person you want has left the office call back tomorrow, so far, no call btu its early yet, I think it's a scam so be careful everyone.
Well judging from the previous comments we are all second prize winners, I wonder who got first place 🤔 Clearly a scam, I've blocked the number! Do not give your bank details to these people!
I entered an Instagram competition and they called saying I won the runner up prize so could choose a hotel stay but only had to pay for breakfast. I’m normally hot on this kind of thing but checked their website etc and it seemed legit. Chose a hotel, then the payment apparently should be £68 but will show up in euros on your bank statement. Hmmmm why? In other words it’s not £68 it’s more. I rang the hotel who know nothing about it. The website also gives an address and when you search it on google maps the address and postcode don’t match. Told them I didn’t want the prize and they said “that’s unfortunate” I’ve since realised they are operating under Mini Breaks UK and also Mini Breakaway. Very dodgy! The one review I’ve found for each company that’s positive is clearly written by the scammers themselves.
I have had a voicemail from a Trudy to say I “won the Instagram competition, not the top prize unfortunately, but second place with a 2-3 night stay. The hotel will be fully paid for, you just need to pay for breakfast “. Did some research and finally found a website (googled the free phone number they provided). I haven’t called them back, but they’ve called me twice a day past 3 days - too busy to answer. If it wasn’t for the breakfast payment, I wouldn’t have been suspicious
Has anyone actually won? or is it a scam? I got a voicemail today from Liam too.
It's been two days since they called and I asked them to call me back in five minutes. IT'S DEFINITELY A SCAM. Be careful
spoken to them, same details as above, was busy walking the dog so asked for call back, not come yet. Still no idea if scam or real as above no one has given out their bank details nor will i be.
I’ve just had the same call. Did anyone find the competition we entered? I’ve searched Instagram and can’t find it to check the terms and conditions.
Just had a voicemail from this number, same as above, ive won a mini break but need to pay for breakfast. Clearly a scam, hope no one falls for it!
I got the same call seems like a scam I think
They called and said that I won an Instagram competition and that I need to pay £17 for breakfast and i asked them to call me back in 5 minutes. They said that they would. It's been two hours. I find it odd that breakfast is NOT included in a competition prize. If they call back I WILL NOT BE GIVING MY CARD DETAILS OUT OVER THE PHONE. You never know if it could be a scam- i'm not sure. I will ask for them to email me from an official email address and I will contact the company directly myself to verify that I have won.
I entered an instagram competition yesterday and they called to say I had won but have to pay £17 for breakfast
Same as message above called today saying I’d won a holiday but had to pay for breakfast. It sounded to good odd and how many people have won via Instagram. Accidentally deleted answerphone message that said to call back asking for Liam.
Called telling me I'd won a short UK break but had to pay for breakfast. I wasn't feeling well so I asked if they could call me back. They got my number from a competition I entered on insta
