Said they were British Gas. Apart from the usual foreign accent, they were quite convincing and quoted our full address and meter number. But they are not able to tell you what your account number is. DON'T TELL THEM YOUR ACCOUNT NUMBER, they will use that to concoct some kind of switch or other scam. When I knew it was a scam call, I told them that it's my colleague that they need to speak to and left them hanging on the phone until they eventually hung up. Wasting their time is the best thing you can do even if it's only for a few minutes.
