This is a car-hone warehouse scam network. They will work to get you to provide bank details / payments up front (returnable promise lol) and then never deliver on anything. If these guys start calling you immediately block the number. As he was talking I googled the number, saw its a scam and decided it would be interesting to egg the guy on to call me back later, which he did. I let it ring out and blocked the number, I then immediately got 4 more calls, all from different landline numbers all over the UK! How the police are not sorting this stuff out is beyond me. Do not give these guys any of your personal details, your bank or card details and certainly no money.
Clearly a scammer pretending to be from carphone warehouse. I wonder who is selling on these details
said they were o2 and that because of covid i was getting 40% off my bills. said they were sending me text messages with security codes and that i would need to tell them the codes. that's when i hung up.
I didnt answer the calll, just left it to ring out. This number came up as spam. My phone didn't trust it, so neither do I.
Say they are Carphone Warehouse. Had received a call previously from them(another number) and asked them to remove my number and reported it to the ICO. Received a call again a few weeks later - either Carphone Warehouse are playing fast and loose with GDPR, or this is a scam. I'm leaning towards the latter.
*SCAM* Called saying they were from carphone warehouse. I asked them to remove my details and they immediately hung up.
Caller said they were calling from Carphone Warehouse, however when asked where they were located he couldn't pronounce the address - 1 Portal Way. Although this is the correct address he didn't have a clue and the number isn't a London number. After a couple more questions (from myself) he hung up!
Called me saying they are carphone warehouse with a special offer for the iphone 12 max pro, upgrade for £8 a month, 2 week trial period etc etc...he then read out the spec '6.1 inch screen' I googled it...it was in fact 6.8 inches " Oh yes mam, it is 6.8 inches' ( 1st red flag ) I then became unsure, because surely someone working for carphone warehouse knows the sizes of iphones?? I asked...well how do I know this isn't a scam 'Mam, we will send you an email now, read carefully- email address (no outbound clickable links to the actual website- second red flag) and then I decided to google the first number called (01242 306 018) and saw it was a scam...NEARLY had me. So I hung up, and blocked, but then received a call from 01239 200121, and then another call from 01237 30016. Very close call!! I was about to upgrade to a new phone too.
