PHISHING CALL. I was asked if I was Mrs ### (wrong name) and was my postcode ### (wrong postcode, but near to where I live). When I said “Yes”, he said I was owed £119 on my washing machine warranty (I’ve never paid for a warranty). He asked into what bank account I’d like the refund to be paid. After 5 minutes stringing him along I asked him how he felt getting out of bed each morning to steal from the elderly and vulnerable. Were his family proud that he was a fraudster and thief? Is this the life his mother wished for him as she held her baby son in her arms? I got nowhere, of course, but in the 5 minutes I kept them on the phone they couldn’t catch someone more trusting, confused or unwary. If we all spared 5 minutes playing along it might put a dent in these scammers income stream.
I was told was due a refund of £119 wanted bank details told them no. Told them to send it by cheque.
An awful call received this morning - person on end of call claiming to be "Rachel" was extremely rude and offensive - using all expletives imaginable as soon as I queried her pitch. Why hasn't this scam been closed down already - it isn't hard to work out that it is not legitimate.
Said I was due refund on washing machine warranty. I don't have one. Knew my name. I hung up. Callers must be desperate for work to do such obviously criminal work.
Person with very strong Indian accent claiming to be called Lisa said she was calling from a refund department. She knew my name and address and wanted me to verify information so she could refund me £119 taken out for a washing machine warranty. When I asked for details about the washing machine and date purchased, she said I would have to speak to someone in a higher department. When I said that I was not prepared to give out any information she ended the call. This was clearly a scam.
Caller called regarding refund of £118 appliance insurance. They checked address and then Asked for current or savings account details. I told them to send a cheque and hung up
Indian caller said i was due a refund for home care of £119. I told them i dont have home care and they are fraud and scamming people out of money and to stop. Probably wont stop them but dont give bank details.

Offered refund on non-existent washing machine warranty. Knew my name and address, asked for bank details. Obvious scam.
Caller from Indian call centre - knew my name and quoted my address - said I was owed £19.95 from my washing machine warranty … how would I like to be paid, to my bank account? I said thank you, as you have my name and correct address please send me a cheque! I guess I’ll have a long wait … I don’t have a washing machine warranty!!

Man telling my elderly mother that he owes her money and asking for her bank details
Caller didn't speak, suggesting its a robotic call generated by call centre without enough numpties to deal.
