Got a call from someone calling themselves Life Insure today - asking searching questions which I did not answer - as I'm on TPS I demanded to know who and how they got my details from - gave me the runaround claiming I'd had contact within 6yrs with an insurance company and that now there were flaws and faults with the policy - I gave the girl an earful and she still insisted she only wanted 30secs of my time I again demanded to know the mailing list provider etc - she said she didnt know but all calls were recorded so I demanded the supervisor - got a chap who said 'she was new' still wouldnt answer my question himself but assured me he'd remove my details - so I will report this further to TPS as I am furious at the number of these slipping through their net. I urge others not to engage with these people as they were quite insistent and if I had not been on the ball myself some unfortunates would have fallen foul of them - more bottom feeding low lifes

Caller id came up as this number. Call started by asking to speak to me by name. Not uncommon in business. Asking re life insurance to see if I was paying too much. Said I had all i needed. Long spiel dropping in my address. I've recently moved from there. I asked who he was working for and was given a wonderful ' we work for all the big companies.........and named all the big players. So basically no answer. Polite but very pushy ...so when can our rep come round tomorrow (he doesn't even know where I live) so this can't be a genuine business appointment so must be trying to verify info held for other purpose....as to make an appointment you would confirm your address. So they already have your address, your name and your tel.......KEEP A CLOSE EYE ON YOUR CREDIT RATING AND CREDIT CARD STATEMENTS. It always comes down to money. I have no debts.

Following on from the above. The advisor didn't bother ringing back. Hope this is not some sort of scam.

A chap called Jason rang from Lifeinsure. New my name, address and Date of Birth. Told him what I was paying for my Life Insurance and he said that seemed expensive and that one of the advisors could phone back to review it. Arranged for him to call me back but I'm a little dubious and so won't be answering the call.

called today said lloyds insure,. I said I have no dealings with lloyds , She said oh but we arnt from lloyds as i put phone down

Had Life Insure call for my step son. He was out/the guy was very insistent that he spoke to him. I said that he was not interested. He insisted that I get him to the phone. I told him he was not here. He said he would phone back. I told him we were not interested and did not want him to phone back. He insisted that he would. I explained that some years ago we got calls like this blocked. He said we were on an automated list, I asked that we be removed from this list. He said this would not happen and intimated that we would receive further calls. I ascertained their number and reported to BT. Scouse accent.

Just had a call from this number, knew my name and address! We are also registered with TPS.

Just had these jokers phone me on my mobile asking about life insurance. Caught me slightly off guard as she knew my surname but i hung up on them shortly after. Scum, utter scum.

My wife answered an unsolicited call enquiring about our life insurance cover. The caller, a male, did not make himself known to her. He was very persistent. He new our surname. He was asking very searching questions about our life cover, and do we have a mortgage, and how much do we owe etcetera. My wife politely hung up after a conversation lasting several minutes! However, she realised she had inadvertently given him 4 pieces of important info regarding our personal and household profile. 1. She confirmed our name. 2. Confirmed we had a mortgage. 3. Confirmed the value of our mortgage. 4. Confirmed we had life insurance. The criteria is, we should not have received this call as we have activated Telephone Preference Services and are also ex-directory. If this has happened to anyone else please do the following. Contact Telephone Preference Services if you have it activated on your land line and request a complaint form regarding this caller. You will get an automated message initially. Wait until this has finished. You will then be able to speak to the person who deals with complaints. The number for TPS is 0845 07 007 07 If you do not have TPS. Activate it now on the number above. If you get any more nuisance calls, request the complaints form and submit it.

Phoned asking for Mr or Mrs and knew my surname. Proceeded to ask me about life insurance, I said we were insured and not interested, he kept on and so I hung up. We are registered with TPS but it doesn't seem to bother the nuisance callers these days!

This number is calling me several times a day. I do not answer but do 1471 immediately after it rings. Getting annoying as I am ex-directory!

No message, but called back witholding my number, Recorded message "Hi We called you about life insurance" I didn't note all the rest, but it appears this is a a call to claim back missold insurance. They shouldn't be calling as i'm registered with the TPS.
