Further to my post on 8 April. This number called again today! They also called last week when I was in Portugal. I'm rapidly turning into Scrooge and don't think I'll be making any more donations to Oxfam. I've now blocked the number on my phone so presumably I'll be going to hell,
Me too. Will not donate this way again as I want ALL mt donation to go to the cause not help a call centre (must be an awful job to call annoyed people) Why call at school pick up time - what a waste of time or am I meant to break the law and pick up while driving - I think not)
Missed call from this number. Tried calling back but it is blocked. Now I see it must be linked to a text donation to Oxfam I made this week. Why can't they just let people make a donation without pestering them afterwards. I also got a call from last night on 01865526219 and a text asking I text them contact details! The moral? Don't make phone donations to Oxfam. They just waste it making nuisance calls.
Same here, donated to the Sudan appeal - won't do it again I'll give to collection boxes where they don't get your contact details
I donated to Oxfam for the Syrian refugee appeal and feel the same. Why would they spend so much money on call centre staff and hassle the people who have donated. I won't be donating this way again and want my number deleted off their database.
Same as everyone else. Very disappointed in Oxfam
Same here! I donated to Oxfam via Sms and have now received 4 calls in 2 days. I've blocked them now and won't be donating again!
Same as all the above ...I don't want to be pressured after freely making a donation.
Oxfam - puts you off donating again!
Same for me ..... I'm a regular giver to Oxfam, and was moved by the TV advert so texted the number for a small extra. Undeniably a good cause, but I'm getting very fed up with giving to charity and then being bombarded with requests for more.
I donated to oxfam and so far have had 2 calls in two days, really makes me reluctant to donate in the future. What's the point in donating if they are going to spend that donation on calling everyone up obsessively.
Yep same, getting calls everyday, so I definitely won't be donating to Oxfam again as I don't have much money and saved up to donate! It just makes me feel like their not even thankful, but of course I will carry on donating to worthy causes. But it appears that it went towards call centres! Really annoyed!
Same for me. Donate for Nepal by text. Will donate to someone else for this cause next time. They allow you to opt out of future text messages but not calls. Not very ethical.
After donating via SMS to Oxfam I got a call. It was to ask if I wanted to use gift aid on my donation which gives them extra money since I'm a tax payer. I was expecting to be asked for more money but wasn't. So far they haven't called back.
Ditto - after watching Ad on tv from Oxfam I donated via SMS and now am being called by this number. Not acceptable at all and I will NOT be donating in this way again. I will also be letting my friends know about this.
Same thing for me - Oxfam water appeal for Nepal. It's beyond acceptable.
Same thing for me - I donated via SMS to Oxfam and a few days earlier to Unicef - the next day I had a call from Unicef and Oxfam (on this number have called me 3 times so far - I have not answered). Presumably they want to ask for more money - what a waste of my original donation - I wish I hadn't bothered now and I won't be again - I like to know my money is going to a good cause not lining the pockets of a call centre operation ...
Donated to Oxfam over a week ago on the Ebola TV appeal; good cause but looks like my money has gone to a call centre and is now becoming a nuisance calling at least 1 call every other couple of days, no one the other end of the call - Sorry Oxfam I support your cause, but will not be donating to you again!
