Called offering debt advice on behalf of OVO energy from PECAB says working with plymouth citizens advice bureau contacted OVO for verification awaiting reply
Got a call from this company saying they are working on behalf of SSE and helping people to save energy.
Company phishing for personnel information ,claiming to be ovo and SSE and saying they will email information which never arrives ,could be spam
As others have stated- claimed to be a company called Sonex acting on behalf of OVO and alongside the charity CHARIS. Seemed plausible but rang a few alarm bells. Cannot contact CHARIS to discuss and OVO customer service team said ‘could be legitimate’ but not 100%! Subsequently called Turn to Us who likewise could not confirm or refute the legitimacy of the claims made. So none the wiser! Proceed with caution if contacted - either shambolic organisation or ‘con merchants’. Will update if the former!
Someone called Julius from Sonic (?) but could be Sonex as others state. Claimed to be working for my energy provider and asked me for security questions before proceeding! He had cold called me so I asked HIM for security questions and he hung up! Despicable to be exploiting those most vulnerable 🤬
Claim to work on behalf of ovo energy but it is a scam as they couldnt even confirm any of my details on my ovo account
A voicemail was left by Julian whilst I was in work (I’m a nurse). When I returned the call he offered to help clear any arrears on my energy account. He seemed to have a lot of personal information about me but was very vague as to how he could help! Reported as suspicious and blocked- better safe than sorry.

Didn’t reply when I answered, unsure of legitimacy but after reading the comments I will ring OVO to see iff anyone contacted me
Had call from this number 0333 3111231 didn't answer but reading the comments it's scam bout debt I had text messages from ovo as customer which was real, so do not give any your info the that number above
