Scam/Fraud

Say they are calling from O2 and are able to apply 40% discount due to service issues but in order to do it they needed me to verify my information. Doesn't sound legitimate as discount is something that can be applied automatically without customers having to provide any details. Didn't proceed any further with the call so don't know what details they wanted verifying but my guess is they are trying to get bank details.
