got call claiming my broadband would be disconnected in 24 hours as international criminals were using my router for nefarious purposes. Just the latest in a long series of calls stating same. Wanted me to contact them so that they could reconfigure my router. Every time I ignore it and nothing happens. If this is how international criminals are tracked down and nullified, no wonder there are so many about.
Same as Arthur Mho A recorded message telling me that I needed a new id as mine has been used for nefarious actions from many countries. Asked me to press 1 to contact their services. Obviously didn't
got call from a automated female voice claiming my broadband would be disconnected in 24 hours as international criminals were using my router for criminal purposes. Wanted me to contact them so that they could fix my router. Never called them as at the time i was working on my PC via the internet . Number is registered to a place called Foula part of the Fair isles Another scam do they think we button up backwards
Exactly the same as alanb. Of course I didn't press 1 to contact their services but I believe some people will.
Usual rubbish about cutting off internet, if the location is known WHY can't they be sorted or at least prohibited from calling?
I was out all day, dialled 1471 and this is the number which came up . I dialled it and it did ring which is astonishing as they are usually made up numbers No idea what the call was about but no doubt it was the your internet is compromised scam . It is time they were stopped especially as they usually tell you it is BT.
