Rang at 10.26 am. Number not recognised so didn't pick up. To Voicemail. No message left so SCAM. Number now blocked.

Asian male who knew my name, full postal address and the brand of washing machine I had delivered last week, said he was from Home Appliances and was offering an extended warranty on my machine for £6 odds per month. He was obviously calling from a call centre as there was a lot of background chatter. As soon as he asked for bank details I terminated the call.

Received call from 01400690079 offering me cover for my washing machine, said they were calling from Home Appliances, they knew my washing machine’s make so gave them a couple of minutes to offer their services but I terminated the call when they wanted to ask about my finances.

Said they had some gadgets for safety like watches etc. 24.99 asked for bank details. My mum's 84yrs how is she to know if its a scam or not.

Said they were calling from Home Appliances and extending the warranty on my washing machine - which sounded credible as I have cover for it. They said that they would send a letter confirming the details but when they asked for my bank details to confirm the direct debit I told them that I do not give those out over the phone and anyway they should have all the information . Call was sounding suspiciously like a scam so I hung up.
