Foreign sounding woman rang today saying she was from EE and that there was a problem with my router and malicious spyware and that she needed to investigate further. I was instantly suspicious and terminated the call saying I was on my way out and would telephone EE Myself on my return. I then looked up the number to find it has a dubious history! DO NOT GIVE OUT PERSONAL INFORMATION TO THIS SCAMMER.

Said they were Virgin media to say my internet would be off and they needed to send engineer, however, went on to ask me to view my event viewer errors and run cmd. Not a problem but was suspicious. When he asked me to go further as he needed my pc licence I advised I was stopping the call which I did. He rang back to ask why I had cut him off. Told him if there is a problem then put it in writing and I will ring Virgin. He rang off and not received any further calls so far. I asked many questions during the call and did not perform the tasks asked but these scammers can find out too much information too easily. BEWARE

Scam phone call claiming there was errors with my router. Reported to BT do not give out ANY details to these people.
